With a first qualification in general medicine in 1997, I turned to physical and sports therapy, studies completed in 1999. My orthopedic and traumatology surgery residency was realised between 1999 and 2004 in Colentina Clinical Hospital and Bagdasar Emergency Hospital. Early in my practice I observed the need for special skills in foot surgery - more interest arise after the clinical foot and ankle surgery courses followed in 2010 at LYON CHU with Dr. Jean Luc Besse and, at Bad Schwartau with Dr Kai Olms. Between 2012 and 2017 I developed more practical experience in the area of the diabetic foot care,in parallel, graduating a PhD in Orthopedics with the subject: Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Diabetic Foot, under the guidance of Prof Dr Adrian Barbilian at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Every year meant a lot of education, training and surgical activity in the areas of large joint reconstruction, gross foot and ankle deformity repair with participation at both international and national courses and conferences. I became an active member of European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS)and the GRECMIP group with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, dealing with pathologies of the ankle (degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, but also sports pathologies), hind foot (flat foot, etc.) and toes (hallux valgus, claw-toe, Morton’s neuroma)

Dr Achilleas Boutsiadis is a Military Orthopaedic Surgeon. He graduated from the Aristotle University School of Medicine, Thessaloniki, Greece and from the Military Medical School Of Thessaloniki. He performed his residency at 424 General Military Hospital of Thessaloniki and at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece. Emmanouil Brilakis, MD, MSc, PhD

Dr. Emmanouil (aka: Manos) Brilakis was born on 4 January 1976 in Athens, Greece. He is living and working in Athens, the capital of Greece and he is a Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialized in Shoulder, Knee and Sports Orthopaedics. He is married having 2 children, a 6-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. He received his degree from the Medical School of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (2003) and followed this up with a residency training program in Trauma & Orthopaedics, in the 2nd Orthopaedic Department of the same University. He undertook a Shoulder fellowship program in the Center of Shoulder Arthroscopy and Open Surgery of Athens (an ESSKA and ISAKOS accredited teaching center) making a use of the awarded fellowships from the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (2012) as well as from the Hellenic Arthroscopic Association (2012). He has also completed a MSc degree (2010) in “Metabolic bone diseases” and his PhD thesis (2018).

 He has been appointed as attending physician at the 3rd Orthopaedic Department of Hygeia Hospital from 2017 and from 2020 he has been awarded the title of Associate Director of this department. He is also available for private consultations at his office (Brilakis Orthopaedics) located in Palaio Faliro, Greece. His has been appointed as Head team Doctor for several Greek teams, distinguishing the female Basketball team of Olympiakos Piraeus and Panionios GS. He is actively involved in research having published articles and book chapters in national & international publications.

Ladislav Kovačič works as an orthopaedic trauma surgeon at the Department of Traumatology at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana in Slovenia. Dr Stefan Mogos completed his orthopaedic residency training at the Foisor Orthopaedics Clinical Hospital Bucharest. He is currently an orthopaedic surgeon at this hospital and he is a knee surgery specialist.

He received his MD degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hatieganu” Cluj Napoca in 1996 and completed his training in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 2001. During his student years and his training, he spent one year in Switzerland (Kantonspital Zug) and had a 2 month ESSKA Fellowship in Berlin, Germany (prof. Dr. A. Weiler) among numerous participations at various courses and congresses. He serves as Associate Professor at the University “Lucian Blaga” of Sibiu (research and teaching activities) and works as Head of the Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery of the University Hospital of Sibiu since 27.05.2020 (he also was Head of Department between 2012-2016). He also works in private practice (outpatient consultations, surgical procedures). Dr. Roman has special interest in knee and shoulder arthroscopy, sport traumatology, joint replacement, fracture treatment. He published more than 100 scientific articles, specialty books and has more than 50 scientific presentations at national and international meetings to his credit. He was involved as a speaker, organiser, member of scientific committee in more the 100 courses. Dr. Roman participated in the 3 year AAOS Shoulder Surgery Project in Romania. Andreas Voss, MD, PhD

Was trained at the Department of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the Technical University of Munich and the sporthopaedicum Regensburg/Straubing. Currently he is working at the Department of Trauma Surgery at the University Hospital Regensburg. 

In-between his training he spent one year as a Sports Medicine Research Fellow at the University of Connecticut (Farmington, USA), focusing in shoulder research and surgery. Besides his medical degree from the University of Regensburg (Germany), he also graduated from the SRH University of Riedlingen as a health economist, specialized in hospital management. 

 He is an active member of the ESA-ESSKA section, working within the communication group. He also is an active member of the Association for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA), German Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (DVSE), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Within the ISAKOS he works as a member of the shoulder committee. 

 Besides his enthusiasm and interest in research, he also greatly supports medical education. Therefore, he was one of the founding members of a special student’s board within the AGA. Due to a unique stepwise curriculum, the medical students are taught in the basic principles of joint surgery to enthuse them for orthopaedic surgery.
